Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaks with Premier of Quebec François Legault

Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Premier François Legault of Quebec regarding the protests that are disrupting rail service across the country. The Prime Minister and the Premier discussed the significant economic impacts of the blockades on businesses, farmers, passengers, and communities in Quebec and across Canada. Prime Minister Trudeau expressed the desire to work closely together toward a resolution as soon as possible. The two governments have already established a coordination committee to exchange information in real time. The Prime Minister and the Premier also agreed on the importance of restoring operations on rail networks quickly, while ensuring that the situation is resolved in a peaceful manner.
